Dog thrown into dam gets saced by firefighters and finds a new home

It’s soul-crushing what some animal undergo because of their heartless owners, but luckily there are kind people willing to rescue them and give them a chance to live happily.

Here is a touching story of a dog, who got stuck in a dam after being left by her owner, until some firemen hurried to the rescue — and this dog now has a loving home.

The dog was in the Lake Wister Dam in LeFlore County. She was standing on a concrete flat and surrounded by rushing water. Therefore she was in threat of being swept up by the strong current.

Madison Renee and her family were amongst the watchers who were on the scene. When they got there, there seemed to be no option to get down to her. They all were standing around and watching the dog try to balance in the current hoping she wouldn’t be swept under.”

But fortunately, help showed up quickly. Members of the Wister Fire Department volunteered to rescue. After demanding the dam to be turn off for the meantime, they arrived and were able to reach the dog with a rope.

The poor dog was scared when they showed up, but soon became friendly with them and let them pet her.

After the rescue, the dog was named Grace. She was taken to the Poteau Valley Humane Society.

Fortunately, the story has a happy ending. James and Paula Watson, from Charleston, Arkansas, heard the story and were right away smitten with Grace.

It turned out the couple’s rescue dogs had died just 3 weeks earlier, and seeing the homeless dog, they were sure it was fate and they were able to give Grace a loving home.

Meeting Grace they adopted her in no time.
