Woman sees homeless kitten and then finds her family

Katie Long was walking on a weekend near her home in Arkansas, when she spotted strange voices in the middle of the road.

When she came closer to see what was the whining sound, she e found wet and scared tiny kitten

“I stood there in disbelief for a bit, then we moved her out of the road to try and figure out what to do,” Long said.

As Katie believed that kitten’s mom was nearby, she started searching around, but it took her hours before she realized the kitten was probably abandoned.   Meanwhile, the stressed kitten clung to Katie in search of warmth.

“We walked all over trying to spot a mama with no luck,” Long said. “When I would set her down she’d walk back to me crying… which made me cry.”

Katie further approached a local store and asked random people if they knew anything about lost kittens but nobody had any information that could help her

“Everyone looked at me like I was insane,” Long said.

Still without answers, she thought it would be better to send the kitten off to a local animal shelter. She was trying to find a shelter, when out of the corner of her eye, she saw a man walking to his mailbox.

“We raced over and I ran out of the car with her in my arms,” Long said. “I asked him if he had any idea where her family was. And he said, ‘oh yeah I think Bill’s cat just had kittens!’”

Soon enough, the kitten was taken to the location of her family.

“We drove over, and in the front yard I saw three cats, and one that looked just like her,” Long said. “I set her down and then mama started cleaning her and feeding her.”

“I can’t believe we found her family!” Long said. “It’s crazy how quick you can feel attached to a helpless little baby like that!”
