The stray dog remained close to his elephant friend in her last hours

The homeless dog named Pancake was wandering in the streets untill she appeared in Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary and became a lovely memeber of it.

The center focused on taking care of old elephants where they spend their last years and die in comfort.

Such a story happened to the adorable one who’s name was Boon Thong.

She was 60 years old and was taken to che shelter 5 years ago after rescuing from the riding camp. She was carrying people on her back for almost 30 years. Then her back was broken. And the caring volunteers helped her in her elder ages bringing her to the center where she was protected and enjoyed her senility.

When she was passing away everyone was beside her. And what was surprising that the dog felt his companion was bad and need comfort. So he hurried to be with her.

So the dog and the founder of the center Katherine sat next to the elephant for 9 hours while she died slowly. It was so touching and the dog seemed to be really devastated. Pancake supported her favourite creature in her very last moments and didn’t even move. He silently lied near her untill sunset. This was really heartwarming.

Boon Thong was burried properly with flowers and fruits and around her lovely friends.
