The baby elephant was only a month old when disaster struck. The baby fell into a well, the elephants couldn’t save him, and the herd left.
David Shelldrick rescued the baby, named him Jotto and sent him to the Kenya Animal Shelter.
The man was able to help the baby and sent him to the Kenyan shelter.
There the abandoned baby met an ostrich named Pea. The animals became friends and then family. Ostriches are considered to be silly birds, but looking at Pea’s attention and care, you can’t call him that. There is so much love, tenderness and care that smart people should take an example!
Now the couple is inseparable. They walk, rest and sleep together.
