During a ceremony in Key on Sunday, the 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and his owner received the Loyalty Medal. The couple has been praised for their role in protecting soldiers and civilians from explosive devices on the battlefield.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who visited Key, was also ready to see a sponsor get the honor with a moving tail.

The sponsor rose to prominence following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine after officials accused him of his role in disarming dozens of explosives since the start of the war.
