The Pazhetnov family has been saving bear cubs for more than 20 years. They were able to return to nature more than 200 bears
Residents of the Tver region, the Pazhetnov family, have been doing a good deed for more than 20 years — they nurse abandoned and orphaned bear cubs.
For their business, the Pazhetnovs created a special technique by which they restore the health of brown bear cubs. And thanks to this, they have already saved more than 200 babies.
There are already 4 biologist-hunters in the Pazhetnov family: Valentin Sergeyevich, Svetlana Ivanovna, their son Sergey and grandson Vasily. All of them are employees of the «Clean Forest» — a biological station, where they are engaged in rescuing cubs.
For all the time, Svetlana has learned to navigate in the forest, she knows how to read footprints and relatively quickly finds kids who need help. In her center, she is also involved in compiling a diet for their little patients.
As the head of the family says, cubs need to be given a lot of attention, and they also require special food: for the smallest — a mixture, for the older ones — porridge.
It is worth noting that if a bear senses danger, she abandons her children and never returns to them. This is the survival mechanism of brown bears. These abandoned children are picked up by biologists.
So that they do not get used to the smell of a person, people always wear overalls and contact with them as little as possible. Bears are not given meat, they should not get used to the fact that this is a very readily available product.
During the year, the Pazhetnov family manages to save from 8 to 10 cubs, and then they release them into nature.
