The newborn squirrel was found by kind people and raised to a real cutie
Once in New York, a woman surprisingly found some branches on her bed with newborn squirrels. It was really mysterious how they appeared there but the lady didn’t get confused and immediately called Christina Reis for help, as she has been rehabilitating orphaned squirrels since 2008.
Kristina and her husband Michael began to take care of tiny babies, but, unfortunately, only one could survive.
The nice squirrel was so small that it fit in a walnut shell. Therefore, they decided to call her Thumbelina.
Thumbelina grew up and it was time to let her go into the wild, but the couple could not part with their lovely baby.
They tried to take Thumbelina to the park, but she felt very uncomfortable there. Seeing other squirrels, she curled up into a ball and did not want to contact them.
The adorble animal became the part of their family and was considered to be their child.
The couple loves and enjoys the time with the sweet creature. They even sleep together.
Christina believes that squirrels deserve love and care no less than other pets.
Thumbelina is very lucky to be in such caring hands of this married couple. They nursed her, and she thanks them for this with her love. Christina and Mike proved that not only dogs and cats can make great pets.
