The neighbors laughed at the family living in a cave, but they managed to turn it into a real mansion
Robert Olafson’s family lived in California. They dreamed of owning their own house. The couple worked day and night to make it real. Only the prices were rising mercilessly. And they realized that the dream was getting farther and farther away.
But they wanted to have their own cozy little nest. The family travels a lot, they visit different parks and nature reserves. And one day, a brilliant idea came to their mind — to buy or rent a cave that would be their home. In order to do this, Robert took out a loan from the bank and leased the cave from the state for 250 years.
People living in the neighborhood began to call Robert a «caveman.» They laughed at the family, not understanding how such an idea occurred to them. They thought this idea was really crazy. But the Olafson family invited some neighbors to visit.
What they saw amazed them. The family had transformed an ordinary cave into a truly luxurious mansion. Inside it was bright and cozy. Special panels blocked dampness and excessive moisture.
The house had all necessary communications: light, water, etc. The work took about half a year, most of the repairs were done by the Olafson family. They managed to make a cozy house out of stone.
