The baby chimpanzee was left without a mother, and the zoo staff gave him a toy for a while. Their photo touches anyone!

A baby chimpanzee named Djibril was born at the Malaga Zoo, Spain. The zoo staff was very happy about the baby’s birth, as he is the key to saving the endangered subspecies of western chimpanzees.

Jibril’s mother was found in an African circus, from where she was rescued. In its natural habitat, the chimpanzee subspecies was under serious threat of extinction, so Kika was transported to Spain, to the Malaga Zoo.

When she got Jibril, she couldn’t take care of him. The fact is that, while in the circus, Kika failed to learn maternal skills and therefore did not accept her cub. The management of the zoo began to look for a foster mother for Djibril. Until then, the zoo staff took care of the little chimpanzee.

At first, little Djibril had to do without his mother.

In order for little Jibril to feel the presence of not only people, but also his own kind, the zoo staff brought him a chimpanzee plush toy.

All witnesses of this unexpected friendship were touched by the attachment of little Jibril to a plush chimpanzee.

Soon a foster mother was found for Jibril

Jibril’s adoptive mother was an adult chimpanzee named Eva. Together with her, Djibril was moved to the biopark of Valencia, where the newly-made relatives began to slowly get used to each other and show their concern.
