The adorable picture of the crocodile carrying his babies on his back became famous around the world

One of the masterpieces of an Indian photographer Dhritiman Mukherjee is a shot of the father crocodile transporting his 100 cubs along the Ganges. It was taken in a national reserve in India.

This incredible scene amazed him and the man couldn’t do anything but have such lovely memory. The residents of the «sacred» river are at risk. There are just about 700 individuals of these species that remain in the area. So this rare shot could be spotted surely.

Unlike other crocodiles that carry their babies in their mouth this type of raptiles have narrow muzzle and sharp teeth so they have found the right way to move their cubs through the water — on their back.

Generally the males transport the babies and it seems in the pic that this giant animal have probably mated with 7 or 8 females as there were about 100 little creatures on his back. The moment was admirable. For these great shot the photographer got the highest praise in the competition held by Natural History Museum in London.
