Starving horse Heidi is stuck in mud and left to die – after being rescued she’s winning awards

An astonishing finding at a construction site in England took volunteers to an animal rescue they were not sure would succeed.

The construction site in East Durham looked abnadooned, and there, lying in the dirt, they discovered a horse and thought it was dead.

It was dirty and skinny, but on closer examination it appeared that the horse was still breathing.

It was one of the worst cases of desolation they had ever seen, and without thinking, they got into action. It took 5 people to get her up on her feet.

It turned out that the owner of the property had called somebody to get rid of  the body of the horse he was thinking was dead.

The nonprofit did everything it could to keep this adorable animal alive, but it was very difficult because she couldn’t even stand up when she was rescued.

It took more than five weeks for the exhausted pony to be able to stand on her own. But because of her toughness and decision to pull through, she made it through.

Heidi endured the level of abuse and neglect that a nonprofit sees once a year, but now she can put it all behind her and enjoy life.

By means of Wendy and her team, Heidi is now «high on life.» Her gorgeous mane has grown back, and she is living her best life and wins rosettes.
