Meet first White Ligers — a cute miracle of the animal kingdom
In December 2013, in Myrtle Beach Safari Park (South Carolina, USA) the most unique felines were welcomed into the world. Ligers are a beautiful mix of a tiger and a lion, and that makes them extremely rare since such different species normally don`t breed.
There are only 1,000 ligers in the world but these adorable cubs are truly like no other. They are the very first white ligers. Meet their proud parents: Saraswati, a white Bengal tigress, and Ivory, a white African lion.
The possibility of such a union was more than tiny. These huge white cats are so unusual that they are almost never seen in the wild. In captivity, there are only 1,200 white tigers and the population of white lions is even smaller — only 300. Luckily, the couple met in a wildlife sanctuary, and now we can adore their sensational cubs.
The four boys were named Apolo, Sampson, Odlin, and Yeti, and each of them has its own distinctive personality. For example, Apollo is very cunning and affectionate, and Yeti is the most active and loves fighting playfully.
Back in 2014, at the age of only six weeks, each of them already weighed seven kilos and was growing at a rapid pace. Ligers are said to be the largest cats in the world, and now we see it is true!
