Man stops to rescue homeless kitten from the road — then gets ‘ambushed’ by 12 other kittens
It’s always nice to see people rescuing homeless animals in need, but one man got a lot more than he bargained for after realizing that the kitten he was helping had a lot of friends.
Robert Brantley of Pioneer, Louisiana, was on his way to the shooting range when he came across a kitten on the side of the road and decided to stop and help it, FOX 13 reported.
«My wife wanted to get a cat on the farm; I decided to stop and rescue it,» Robert wrote.
«He’s definitely going to die,» he says in the video, after grabbing the kitten from the curb. The kitten is so small and young, he was in danger of being hit by a car or starving to death without food or water.
But although the kitten was homeless, it soon became clear that this did not mean he was alone: seeing Robert’s kindness, a whole horde of a dozen cats emerged from the grass, eager for rescue.
«Oh my God!» says Robert. «Oh my God, there are more!» — he says as the cats continue to arrive, swarming around his feet. «We have a problem with kittens…who would do that?»
«I thought I was saving one!» — The man says in desperation.
But he got much more than he bargained for by being «ambushed,» and after telling the kittens, «I can’t take you all,» he actually took all the kittens with him.
Robert managed to get the gang of kittens into his van. «I couldn’t keep up with them as I got one in and two jumped out,» Robert wrote on Facebook. «So I had to close the door with the window down and drive them inside.»
Despite the difficulties, the kittens seem to be having a good time at Robert’s house. In a follow-up message, he reported that he is arranging kittens’ bedding, food and water.

The video also shows the kittens playing and roaming around the yard, much to the delight of Robert’s children. «The kids love them,» Robert wrote.
In another follow-up video, Robert bathes one of the kittens named Scout, the same kitten he picked up on the road.

After his story went viral, he thanked his followers and supporters for their advice and help with the material. While suddenly becoming the guardian of a huge group of kittens is undoubtedly very difficult, he seems to be providing these kittens with the best care possible.
