Lioness saves her tiny cub from plunging into watering hole
Life is exceedingly difficult for a baby animal, and areas like the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, make it even harder because there’s a peril at every step. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the predators or the prey, nature is always merciless. Luckily, for baby animals, their shielding mothers are always around the corner to protect them!
A tiny lion cub fell in a hopeless situation. He went to quench his thirst from a pond in Masai Mara, beside his mom and one of his brother. The bank was pretty deep and abrupt and after drinking, they had to climb up, but one of the cubs took a wrong way because of the high grass and began to panic. At first he tried to climb the cliff but soon understood that it was too tough.
Happily his mother heard him hopelessly crying and hurried to the rescue. She snatched him up in her jaws and brought him to a safer place. The impressive moment was captured on camera by photographers Laurent Renaud and Dominique Haution.
The 62-year-old French photographers watched the whole moment, and they were unsure if the baby would make it. But the brave lioness instantly arrived and took her baby back to safety.
You always need a devoted mom on your side!
