Khemjira Klongsanun is 43 years old and a native of Bangkok. She has two dogs at home and knows how to raise and care for them. During a marathon, the woman spotted a small puppy on the side of the road where there were no houses or people nearby. The athlete took the baby with her, but stayed on the course and continued running.

Hemjira recalls, «I thought the baby was going to die. There were no houses around, no other dogs or people. That’s why I picked up the puppy, only to get him out of the dangerous environment.»

No one intervened in this situation, as it is not described in the rules of the marathon. But other participants also showed great interest in the little traveler.

Hemjira didn’t finish the marathon with the best score, but that’s not the most important thing.

Then she showed the puppy to the vet. After an examination and the necessary vaccinations, the little guy went to his new home. It turned out that he was not even a mongrel, but a purebred dog and belonged to the Thai breed bangwu or bangkeu.

The woman named the baby Chombueng after the place where the marathon was held.
