In Frankfurt, Germany, a gorgeous white Arabian horse goes out on a walk every single day and knows the way very well.
Jenny, a 25-year-old mare, was ridden this way by her owner, who died about than 15 years ago.
The tender horse loves going out for a morning walk around town every day. Jenny didn’t used to walk on her own — she was part of a horse «caravan» led by the mare’s owner, Werner Weischedel.
At the age of 82, Werner died. In time, Jenny’s friend, a black mare named Charlie, also died of old age.

So Weischedel’s wife decided to walk the horse the same way the owner rode her. At first, Jenny was accompanied on her morning walks.
But later, the new owner realized that the mare could handle it on her own. Since then, Jenny has been let out of the stall every day, and she walks quietly through the streets of the city, following a memorized route. One might think that a lone horse walking around the town is a bit strange and even unsafe.

However, the independent mare knows her native path well and moves just like any other pedestrian walking in the area. Weischedel’s wife even works with law enforcement in Frankfurt to keep Jenny and the townspeople safe. As a result, not a single incident involving a white horse has occurred in 15 years.

So, Jenny has become a celebrity among the locals. They all look forward to meeting Jenny: some stop to greet and pet her, give her treats, and even clean up after her. In time, Jenny became well-known even outside her small community. And the story of the roaming Arabian horse now brings smiles to people all over the world.
