Frightened shelter dog jumps for joy when he realizes he’s being adopted

Shelter dogs wait to be finally adopted, dreaming of a family that will love them and give them a forever home.

One heartbreaking viral video shows how adoption can completely change a dog’s life: a poor pit bull goes from scared to happy in an instant.

As much as shelters try to make dogs happy and comfortable, it can be a scary place for them. When an 8-month-old pit bull named Benny showed up at the Carson Animal Shelter, he looked scared and lonely, not knowing what would happen to him next.

In the video, Benny can be seen in a shelter crowded with other barking dogs. He looks timid, keeping behind him in his kennel.

When people approach his gate, he doesn’t know what to do with them and continues to act wary.

When someone puts a red collar around his neck, he doesn’t understand where he is being led. But suddenly he realizes what is happening:

He is being adopted!

He begins to jump for joy.

His elation continues as he goes outside, tastes freedom, and happily wags his tail, realizing that he will never go back to the shelter again.

The shelter was just as happy that Benny had found a family.
