Diver came face-to-face with huge shark off Florida coast
This amazing encounter between a diver and a large bull shark took place off the coast of Jupiter, Florida. The man even managed to take pictures of the terrifying monster and posted several pictures online.
John Moore, a photographer and marine life enthusiast, was freediving when he encountered the giant shark. Although the 55-year-old diver had encountered sharks many times, this one was the largest he had ever seen. The shark, a pregnant female, was searching for prey near the surface along with other bull sharks.
The photographer said: «She was unnaturally huge. She clearly didn’t skip meals, which makes her pregnancy quite plausible. Throughout our dive she bravely swam up to me and was really a dominant shark.»
Moore later shared incredible photos on Instagram, where he constantly posts shots of the sharks he encounters while diving!
«Personal inspection up close of the very impressive jagged teeth of a large female bull shark,» he wrote. «The fish grabbed a piece of bait and ran toward me for cover, but then got spooked and dropped the piece. This prompted me to take the picture, which came out even too close for my 20-millimeter lens.»
Although he has a lot of experience with sharks, it was not a pleasant experience for Moore because bull sharks are not the friendliest sharks. In fact, this species, along with the great white and tiger sharks, are the most dangerous. These giants can reach 11 feet in length and weigh about 1,500 pounds.
