Caracals are lovely kitties that you can easily fall in love
It is an untamed creature with strange eyes that is endearing. After all, most attention is usually directed to lions, tigers and leopards.
Among the felines, however, there are no less remarkable and magnificent animals that deserve attention.
This charming predator, slightly larger than a cat and adorned with graceful tassels on its ears, will win anyone’s heart. Not surprisingly, in its natural habitat, this desert cat was a tame predator.
So meet caracal.
Although some people think it is a bobcat, it is actually not. The caracal is more compact, slender, and has a monochromatic coloration. It is a gorgeous shade of red, varying from pale beige to bright red depending on the habitat.
Their name comes from the Turkish phrase «karakulak,» which literally translates to «black ears.» Caracals make their homes in trees or burrows dug by themselves while nursing their young.
Caracals feed on rabbits, rodents, and birds. The notion that caracals can go without water for a long time is not entirely true. They get their fluids through food.
Due to their high activity at dawn and dusk, these creatures were studied and used as hunting animals in ancient Iran and India.
