In Great Britain, David Kidd was walking his dog Monty when he noticed another similar dog, which, as it later turned out, was named Rosie. As soon as Monty and Rosie met, they got excited and began cuddling as if they were reunited after a long separation. As it turned out, they were.

After seeing the dogs’ reactions to each other, their owners got to talking and realized that Monty and Rosie were brother and sister: they grew up together, but were given to different families by the breeder.

»One day my husband and I were walking Rosie and we ran into David. Suddenly Rosie and David’s dog Monty jumped up and started cuddling. It was amazing. It turned out they had grown up together and remembered each other after a long separation,» recalls Susan Killip, Rosie’s owner.

Rosie and Monty were born at the Bishop Middleham home on June 30, 2019. There were six pups in total in the litter, but only these two spent all their time together. Eventually, however, the dogs were separated, and they could no longer communicate and play with each other. Perhaps now, thanks to the familiarity of their owners, they will see each other more often.

»We plan to meet Monty’s owners again and hope we can celebrate our pets’ birthdays together,» Susan Killip recalls.

Rosie and Monty’s owners live in different cities, so the likelihood that the dogs would see each other again was not that high, and that makes the unexpected sibling reunion all the more touching. When Susan Killip shared pics of Rosie and Monty cuddling, they caused quite a splash on social media. Users were thrilled with the furry relatives.
