Blind senior horse needs to be euthanized and doesn’t understand why

The animal shelter gives a 31-year-old blind horse a second chance at life.
He lost his sight due to a disease known as uveitis. The owner was about to euthanize him because he could no longer take care of him, but the founder of the animal shelter came to his aid.

He explained that his approach to teaching blind horses and animals to walk is no different from teaching a blind child. The horse now has many friends, but his best friend is a 35-year-old blind Apalusa. They graze together during the day and stay together at night.

He will spend the rest of his days in a friendly atmosphere surrounded by friends. His salvation in «long-term» care is possible in part thanks to sponsors. The shelter relies on sponsors to help care for all rescued animals and their special needs.

In addition to being blind, he also suffers from «a cough, a type of equine asthma, and Cushing’s syndrome, a thyroid disorder.»
