After $400 trip to vet, man discovers his hobbling dog was just copying him out of sympathy
It’s always very worrying to see our pets ill or injured. You rush to get them to the vet asap.
But while one man was concerned about his dog, he found out that the dog was more worried about him.
Russell Jones, from London, broke his ankle last year and ended up in a cast and on crutches. But then something wierd happened: his 8-year-old lurcher named Billy, all of a sudden also started hobbling.
Russell was thinking that something was wrong with the dog’s foot, and took Billy to the vet the next day. The appointment cost over $400, but they couldn’t find anything wrong with the dog.
When they got home Russell’s wife Michelle spotted the dog jumping around the garden while Russell was away.
Only then they realized that Billy was faking a limp around Russell while he was on crutches!
It’s an exceptional act of empathy, a reminder of just how attentive and caring they can be. When Russel couldn’t get around as normal, Billy decided to “limp” in solidarity.
Russell recently posted a video of Billy limping next to him.
The video has now gone viral. While some people joked that the dog was a “con artist,” most people thought it was a touching gesture.
