Adorable cats of rare breed shock everyone with their resemblance to sheep
These charming cats resemble curly sheep, with their soft fur. The babies are representatives of a new breed, the Selkirk Rex. Only a few years ago, breeders stopped introducing animals of other breeds to obtain curly litter. Now the Selkirks are a self-sufficient, closed group, where the curly gene is passed down from both parents.
The loving woman Eleanor Muccio first saw the Selkirks at the Geneva exhibition. She, an avid cat lady, happened to hear about a young breed, and a charming family of a mother, named Gina, and several kittens, subdued her.
The first Selkirk Rex came to her house four years ago. The snow-white beauty Gina has her own Instagram account and more than 128 thousand followers. She has already been a mother several times and her offspring are in great demand among fans of the breed.
Eleanor herself shares her observations about the nature and features of caring for Selkirk pets in the cat’s profile. So, the woman recommends paying attention to the regularity of cleaning the ears and eyes. This breed is characterized by intense sulfur secretion, so the breeder advises cleaning no more than once a week.
According to her, the breed adapts perfectly to a city apartment. Animals are not capricious, obedient, friendly and playful. However, unlike their relatives, the British Shorthair, they do not tolerate loneliness well.
