A woman adopts 26 animals and turns her home into a sanctuary for special needs animals
Nicole Wulfekuhle loves animals so much that she decided to dedicate her life to saving them and turned her home into an animal shelter.
Since 2016, this animal lover has adopted 26 pets, and they all live with her in her Minnesota home.
It all started when she went to pick up her two abandoned cats and saw a blind kitten who needed a home. She adopted that kitten, which was the first of many animals she rescued.
As she began rescuing and adopting more and more animals, she registered her home as a nonprofit shelter called The Lennon Legacy. She chose the name in honor of a blind and deaf Indian street dog, whom she helped extensively before he sadly died after an epileptic seizure.
Among the animals rescued by Ms. Wulfekuhle are a cat named Belle, who needs a wheelchair to get around, and a blind, bow-legged puppy named Jude, who was found emaciated, dehydrated and with his eyes gouged out by wounds.
She also has 20 other cats, several dogs and two goats. To say she has a full house is an understatement!
Most of the animals she rescues had no choice but to be euthanized, and she has given them a new life. The mission of Lennon’s Legacy is to care for these animals while raising awareness of the beauty of special needs animals.
