A touching moment of the elephant herd giving final respect to their leader
Elephants are known to be frendly and kind animals. They are sociable creatures and show their emotions in a unique way. Besides, they are very protective towards their babies and herd. So when one of their members dies they express their feelings in a way that can be unusual even for humans.
Such a touching case happened in Shri Lanka where a group of elephants gathered to farewell their leader. After a cruel fight with a rival from another herd, the powerful elephant passed away. And everyone heard about this huge disaster. Most of all people were shocked to see a number of elephants coming to pay a last respect to their «captain». It was really a heartbreaking scene.
About 300 animals were surrounding their beloved chief and grieving for him. It was their way of showing their appreciation and love towards him which lasted for several days.
