Elephants are social animals who thrive in their herd.

It turned out that he had been left by his herd. The reason was that he had a health issues. So he was not able to survive on his own.

Although the shelter was focused on caring for rhinos, Ellie was not rejected; in fact, the staff did their best to invent a new milk formula, since he was allergic to any milk.

Ellie was encountering some psychologcial problems, not being able to communicate with his elephant family.

The staff had no idea how to help the poor creature with his social needs.

But support was just around the corner. It was a former service dog named Duma who rescued the sad elephant cub from his ennui.

When Duma showed up, they immediately became best friends and was inseparable.

So the poor little cub found solace in a dog.
