A cat saves its owner from a very poisonous snake, the reptile crawled through an open door and hid in shopping bags
A few days ago, Ricky Owens, a resident of Dartmoor, Australia, returned home from the store and put his shopping bags next to the refrigerator. The man then left the house for a couple of hours, leaving the front door open.
When Ricky returned, he noticed that his cat Gordon was acting very strangely. The fluffy cat was pacing around the chair, hissing and scratching at it and occasionally bouncing back. The pet’s behavior alarmed the Australian, and he looked under the chair, but found nothing.
Chalking Gordon’s actions up to typical feline quirkiness, Ricky went to the bar. When he returned he noticed the cat again, this time hissing at the grocery bags next to the refrigerator.
«I went over to get some tea from the fridge and saw the cat attacking the bags I had left nearby,» Ricky recalled.
After the man picked up the shopping bags, he realized Gordon wasn’t worried in vain. It turned out that just a few inches away from Ricky and his cat was a meter-long tiger snake. This snake is one of the most venomous and dangerous in Australia, and an encounter with it can end badly.
The disturbed snake disappeared under the refrigerator in a second, and Ricky had to take serious risks to get it out.
Luckily, the Australian managed to grab the dangerous reptile by its tail and throw it over the fence in his backyard. The man will now always take the cat’s actions seriously and stop leaving the front door open, because he believes the snake got into the house through it.
