Friendship at a distance: the penguin travels thousands of kilometers every year to see his savior

A 71 years old fisherman João Pereira de Souz once found a weak and feable penguin on the beach. It seemed that the miserable bird hit an oil slick and could hardly breathe. He was covered with a dark liquid. The caring man had no way but to take the needed creature to his house and look after him. And when Dindim (as the man called the sweet one) was fully recovered he was released back into his natural land. The fisherman then continued his normal life.

But what a shock he experienced after some months when he noticed already grown-up Dindim in front of his house again! The penguin was completely healthy and he returned to his savior to thank for helping him.

Now each year from June to February, Dindim visits his friend and enjoys the time with him, then goes back to his natural habitat. It is really unbelievable to learn that this adorable creature didn’t forget the one who rescued him and comes to show his gratefulness to him.

The adorable creature doesn’t let anyone approach him, except for his friend. He counts on him fully, he loves to be in his arms. He considers the man to be his best companion. It is more amazing when seeing his rescuer, the bird moves his tail and makes a happy cry like a dog.

He travels thousands of kilometers to Brazil, to spend the 8-9 months with his savior. What a strong relationship can be created between a human and an animal!
