Homeless man risks his life to save animals from fire
In life there is always a place for a feat, even if a person, does not look and live the way he should as per the standards of the society.
Today’s story is about a man who has no roof over his head, o work and sometimes even no food, but still he has a very big and kind heart. Risking his own life, he rescued animals from a burning shelter.
At the end of December last year, a fire broke out in one of the animal shelters in Atlanta. And before any of the workers realized it, homeless Kit Walker threw himself into the fire and began saving all the pets.
Kit has been living on the street for over thirty years. He could not find a roof over his head, which was his main problem, but he never complained about that. His dog’s name was Bravo, who he would periodically take to the local shelter for a night. That evening, when the fire started, Bravo was to spend the night there….
The kitchen caught fire and the firemen who came to the call extinguished it. But they could not help the animals, as per the existing protocols they had no right to that since there were designated services for animals. Before anyone could think what to do, Walker ignored all the rules and ran into the shelter.
The smoke filled his breath, but despite all that he carried all the animals out into the street, one by one.
Fortunately, all the pets survived and were transferred to a new building. The shelter is currently being renovated. Kit Walker and his dog Bravo are always welcome here.
The staff of the shelter already organized a fundraiser for their new home, so that they have their own roof over their heads.
