Dogs are such loyal and loving animals. Any pet owner knows how nice it is to come home and see a dog joyfully greeting you, as if it had been waiting for you all this time.

But, unfortunately, sometimes dogs are loyal to owners who do not deserve their love and do not reciprocate. This was the case with one unfortunate puppy who was abandoned in a cardboard box, but despite the sweltering heat, he continued to wait in vain for his master’s return.

According to the non-profit rescue organization Dallas Dog, a 10-month-old puppy was left on the side of the road. Despite everything, the puppy refused to leave his kennel.

«She was just sitting there,» the Dallas Canine Organization wrote on Facebook. «I waited and waited, hoping that someone would come back.»

«She didn’t go…

She was abandoned, abandoned by her owners in the middle of nowhere — but the dog, it seems, did not know this and faithfully waited for their return.

She didn’t budge, even though the heat was unbearable. It is reported that the temperature was above 104 degrees, and the head temperature was 110.

Fortunately, a neighbor found the dog and gave her water. She called Animal control, who came and picked her up.

The dog was named «Harvest» because on the box in which they found her, it was written «Diced potatoes with premium seasoning «Harvest»».

Harvest was picked up from a dog shelter in Dallas. Even on the way to the shelter, the frightened dog still refused to leave his booth.

«They left the box in her cage because it was for her safety,» said Dallas Dog president Patti Dawson. «You could see how her shoulders and body were shaking with fear.»

It was clear that the frightened puppy needed extra love, so Dallas Dog was urgently looking for a foster family.

Fortunately, such a family was soon found, and Harvest entered a loving home for the first time. Her character soon began to manifest itself, and the photos show her exchanging a cardboard box for a cozy bed:

«It took her about a week to really open up, and she hasn’t slowed down or looked back since,» said Dawson.

The dog has not yet found its happy ending; she is still in foster care and is looking for another family to take her to her permanent residence.

But while Dallas Dog is working to find her a new home, Harvest is in good hands with her foster family, recovering and receiving much-needed love.
