Together forever: a cat and a dog in the same carrier did not want to part

According to stereotypes, cats and dogs do not always get along with each other, but numerous stories prove that the mustachioed ones can be great friends for dogs!

Moreover, such seemingly different animals can become very attached to each other, and even the slightest attempt to separate them turns into a drama!  So it happened with our characters — a fluffy cat with a name Kitty and a tiny Chihuahua named Leila…

When Kitty was four years old, a glorious puppy came into the house. Kitty began to take care of the doggie, and soon the grown-up Leila became the sweet and affectionate cat’s best friend.

Perhaps their serene life would have continued if not for an unpleasant story: the owners refused to take care of the pets! They came to the shelter and said that for some reason they could no longer keep the cat and dog.

When the volunteers opened the carrier, they found frightened Leila and very sad Kitty sitting in it. They realized that their owners had abandoned them, so they were wary of strangers. The animals kept close to each other and did not want to separate.

Volunteers understood this almost immediately — when they tried to take the dog away, the cat started «screaming» loudly, as if asking to bring it back. As soon as they brought Leila back, Kitty immediately calmed down and cheered up.

There is a rule in the shelter that dogs and cats cannot be together, since not all of the residents are friendly to purrs. However, it was decided to make an exception for this little «company» — they simply could not be separated! Understanding Leila and Kitty’s feelings, the volunteers put them in the same room together, so the animals would feel comfortable.

The volunteers’ greatest fear was that they would have to be separated if their owners wanted to take one. But, to their great good fortune, soon there were people at the shelter who agreed to «adopt» both «girls»!

The new owners’ names are Andre and Elizabeth Marion, and they live in Sudbury, Massachusetts. After seeing the cat and dog, people confessed that they loved them from the first minute!
