It was a big mop that turned out to be a cat

Last week a man planted a cat carrier at the door of a Nevada animal shelter in the middle of the night.

When the shelter workers opened it the next morning, they were shocked by what was inside.

From the outside, it looked like a big ball of mussed hair. They could see neither paws nor muzzle and therefore people did not immediately understand where the animal’s «end» and «beginning» were.

At first they thought it was a dog. This happens to dogs if you don’t take care of their fur for a long time. But then they saw the cat’s face and were even more shocked.

The poor cat was barely moving and could not stand on his feet because of the huge ball of loose hair. And no one knew who had kept it and how long it had been in this condition. Even getting the animal out of the carrier was a problem, he barely fit in there.

«When we saw his face, we all exclaimed, ‘Oh, my God! It’s a cat!». None of us had ever seen cats like that,» said shelter worker Liz Begovich.

According to Begovich, the poor cat was immediately taken to the vet and given a shot of sleeping pills. After that, all the fur was shaved off the cat. The fur weighed over 2 kilograms.

Underneath the fur was a very well-fed cat who was given the nickname Bob Marley. He was not groomed, but at least he was well fed.

«After he was shaved, he could finally start walking and he really liked it. He’s even running now.»

Bob Marley looked about 10 years old. He is currently looking for a more caring owner.
