In the midst of the chaos, 2 men from Hernando, Mississippi saw that there were animals in need and decided to act.
Frankie Williams, a 26-year-old plumber who works for a landscaping company and his brother noticed that several animals had come out of the flooded forest into the pasture in front of their house.
They had a small boat to go to check the flooded forest, on the way to the forest, passing through the flooded fields, they rescued some field mice, porcupines and rabbits.
Possums and armadillos are left alone on patches of land and can only cling to whatever they can find to avoid being washed away by rising floods, while raccoons can find protection by climbing trees.
As soon as the water level started to drop, the animals were released.
«I grew up with a great passion for nature,» Williams explained. «I hate to see any animal suffer.»
