Meet the gorgeous and endangered ‘Black Forest’ horses of Germany
With their brilliant, bright hair and fantastic chestnut skin, Black Forest horses will not let you forget them.
Black Forest horses have been recorded since the 15th century. But now these incredible horses are in danger. In 2017, only 88 stallions and 1,077 mares exist.
Before becoming extinct, they were used by Germans for more than 600 years. They were mainly used in carriages. Black Forest horses have a very mild character and are easily tamed, which is wonderful for new and inexperienced horse owners.
Thanks to careful breeding, their numbers are anticipated to grow in the near future. This magnificent breed is called the «pearls of the Black Forest» and it is clearly visible why.
