The mother goose takes care of 47 goslings and keeps them safe
Mike never paid much attention to geese, but one day things changed.
The man always takes his camera with him. And by chance, he first met the geese.
«Every night I went out for a walk on the river, of course, there were a lot of geese because they came from the south and were looking for a place to nest,» he said.
He saw the first group of cubs in the spring. So while he waited, he began photographing geese.
One night the man was sitting in a few reeds along the riverbed when he noticed a mother goose with a disproportionate number of cubs. The children began to dig under her feathers to sleep at night until she counted the 16 fluffy bodies tucked under their mother’s wings.
He counted 25 goslings one day, then 30 the next, until he found a mother goose and her partner with 47 babies. He discovered that this wonderful mother takes care of goslings from different households.
Brigade broods are formed when especially patient parents babysit other people’s children, giving their friends a few days off.
It was clear that she was made for this job.
Three huge families have been formed since then, but this wonderful mother and her partner are still responsible for 25 children. They will keep them safe until it is time to head south again.
