Willie is a lobbyist, poet and songwriter.

In his 85 years, he still visits various places and has more than 30 books under his belt. He is also an animal lover, and when he heard that about 70 horses were about to be sent to slaughter, he decided to save them!

He has a ranch in Texas called Luck Ranch, and it was about 30 miles away from Austin. He moved the horses to the ranch. This is a great place for the horses, as they are free to run around there.

The horses are very lucky with Willie, as he has done his best to provide them with the best living conditions possible. They are fed by hand twice a day, and they are very happy to have him in their lives. Many people his age find no interest in life, but not this man.

He still travels and enjoys life. The good work he does began in 1985 when he founded Farm Aid. His intention was to bring awareness to the importance of family farms. Nelson first gave his concert in front of 80,000 people. Among those who performed were Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty.

Willie says the mass killing of horses is one of the wildest things in the world, and more than 90% of the young and healthy horses have had to deal with it. Most of the horses are put up for sale at private auctions, others become pets.

His song «The love of horses» is a beautiful song from his latest album.
