Penguin flees from a hungry seal and hitches a ride home on a boat

The ocean is full of extraordinary and interesting wildlife. You never know water and you never know what you’ll see and experience.

A group of tourists on a boat ride lately found themselves in the middle of a penguin’s great escape from a seal — and helped reunite the bird with its flock.

A video captured by expedition guide and photographer Vladimir Seliverstov, and shared by Caters, shows how a penguin got on to a tourist cruise boat in Antarctica.

The penguin was trying to flee from a hungry leopard seal, and end up on the boat. The animal seems happy to be barely escaped becoming prey — and the tourists are overjoyed to have the unexpected new traveler on board.

Luckily, the group decides to help reunite the creature with his flock. They steer the boat towards an iceberg, which has a lot of other penguins on it. As soon as they get close enough, the penguin jumps off and wobbles along to reunite with his flock.

He’ll surely have an exceptional story to tell his family.
