The sea can be a dangerous place for people. Few things can be worse than being stuck in the water, the earth is not visible, and afraid that you will drown.
But sometimes nature lends a helping hand, and friendly sea creatures will come to the aid of people in need.
So it was with a stranded boatman who received divine inspiration from a seal.

the boatman went to the English Channel in his boat, Maine realized that the weather was unfavorable, and turned the boat back to land.

But soon disaster struck: the boat rocked from the rough water, and Scott was thrown into the fairway. To make matters worse, the boat, with its engines still running, kept moving without him, making it impossible to get back on board.
Only in shorts and a T-shirt and with no land in sight, he soon realized what a dire situation he was in. “I thought to myself, great, this is how I’m going to die,” he said. «Today is the day I die.»
Scott swam forward, looking for a lifeline. He was motivated by the thought of seeing his family again, he was afraid to die and leave them alone.

But the water was ice-cold, pitch black, and a panicked Scott realized he was being confronted by superior forces. “The panic that started was like, ‘Wow, this is a pretty tough situation,’” he said.

However, he soon received a boost of support that gave him the strength to continue.
A harbor seal walked under him and nudged him, «like a dog coming up and pushing you to your leg,» he said.

He took this interaction as a divine sign, or at least the seal’s way of telling him to keep going after seeing him get into trouble.
The support of a friendly seal was exactly what he needed: with newfound determination, he continued to swim, hoping for a miracle.

Against all odds, he sailed through the dark, icy water for five hours until he finally reached an oil platform.
Completely exhausted, he used the last of his remaining strength to pull himself up, and the team found him and gave him much-needed medical attention.
“They thawed and warmed him up,” the fundraising page says. “He is a legend for us. It’s a real miracle that he was able to survive all the elements and the cold Pacific Ocean for so many hours.»
He spent the night in the hospital, he had hypothermia, and he was dehydrated, covered in bruises and cuts. But now he will be all right: “Now he is at home with his family, very exhausted, humble and grateful … and just happy to be alive.”

The foundation page was set up to repair damage to his boat and has currently raised about $13,000 in donations.
How miraculously Scott survived. Never underestimate the strength of the human spirit or a little support from a friendly animal.
