The kind monk devoted his life to rescue the stray dogs
There are numerous stray dog in the world. And while there are many people who ignore them there are also kind ones that notice the poor creatures and help them.
So one of these good-natured men is Zhi Xiang, a 51 years old monk, who devoted all his time, efforts and resources to help and rescue the stray dogs in China. He established a huge shelter and saved about 8000 animals since 1994. He stated that his faith led him to undertake such a useful and important act.
Zhi spends about $2 million a year to keep them in shelter and give them proper care. He is supported by his family, friends and other contributors.
There are about 50 million homeless animals in China. Zhi stated that it is most due to the irresponsible owners who adopt pets without learning the concept of well caring and keeping them so after some time they get tired of them and abandon them like a useless thing.
A big part of the man’s work is to rescue the helpless creatures by getting them adopted abroad. Though he misses them a lot he knows that they are in good hands. And he hopes that one day he will visit them all and take pictures with them to have unforgettable memories.
Zhi Xiang is a real hero and his great work is worth to appreciate. We need more people like him in the world.
