When two frightened puppies came to the foster home, the mother dog rushed to comfort them.

For a shelter dog, moving to a new home can be a daunting experience. Luckily, the dog’s mother made the two new arrivals feel right at home in their new foster home.
Two puppies were taken to a new shelter after the animals were rescued.
«They’re about nine or ten weeks old,» Diana said. «They’re a little playful but shy.»

But on the first night of the puppies in their new home, they received a visitor who was there to make sure they were not afraid. An elderly dog slipped out of his kennel to accompany them.

When the employees caught the dog’s mother on TV, they were astonished. «We have never seen a dog sneak up on some puppies before and we are so happy to see them,» said a staff member.

The dog was motherly to the newcomers, and the woman decided to let them spend some more time together.
«The dog stayed there for about 15 minutes, and then said.
The three dogs spent the whole night together, and the next morning the staff found them huddled together.

The puppies, no doubt, were comforted by Maggie, but Maggie likely needed love too. Maggie’s children were adopted.
Whether or not it’s similar to what the staff has seen before, it’s part of the mother dog’s instinct to offer such comfort.
«It’s a natural feature of many stains, especially if they’ve had a baby before,» he said. «We have seen it in many dogs, even males, when they hear other dogs crying, they want to comfort them, to make sure they feel safe.»

This is a story about the power of a mother’s love. And good news: a Facebook comment from the pet motel confirmed that Maggie was adopted into the house forever from a humane society, and we hope she received the same love that the puppies received that night.
