The exhausted Siberian tiger goes to the village for searching help
Wildlife usually avoids human presence, and tigers are no exception. However, the endangered Siberian tiger, ignoring its natural instincts, moved toward the village. The wild cat needed help because he could not eat anymore due to serious dental problems.
The magnificent creature was found lying in front of someone’s door in a small Siberian village. The remote village of Solontsov has about 600 inhabitants who are familiar with wildlife, but the huge tiger on someone’s balcony was too much for them. However, they hurried to help the tiger.
“Alexey Khaideev stumbled upon a tiger in his driveway,” explained Galina Tsimano, one of the residents. “He wanted to go outside in the morning when he noticed this. He started to push the door and heard the tiger growl. He went back inside and started calling all the emergency services.”
The wounded cat did not let anyone near it, but it did not drive it away either. It was obvious that she was in pain and needed help. Luckily, rescuers arrived in time to save the animal. She is transferred to the Alekseevsky rehabilitation center, where they learned about her health problems.
“The tigress behaved absolutely peacefully as if she was waiting for help,” Sergei Aramilev, director of the Amur Tiger Center, told The Siberian Times. “However, the condition of the rare predator is serious and requires urgent action.”
The conservation team initially thought the wound was the result of poaching, but it turns out it wasn’t!
“There was no visible damage from poaching,” they said. “However, she has oral problems and is severely malnourished. She has severe gum problems and no upper teeth.»
Now the team is doing everything in their power to save the tigress, as they have done with other wild felines before. The Amur tiger is an endangered species, less than 500 individuals remain in the wild!
