The older man waits patiently by the water every day until his best friend crawls out and greets him.

Since the beginning of time, humans have lived near wildlife. Some of it has survived to this day. While many of us don’t even imagine what it’s like to live away from the bustling city life we’re all used to, there are still so many people who peacefully live their lives off the grid, far out in the free wild.

This story is about Sepo, a 65-year-old man who lives alone in his cozy cabin in the forests of Finland. Despite being alone, Sepo never felt lonely because he always made good friends among the animals that live near his front door. But above all, there is the otter, with whom he has the greatest bond. Now not a day goes by that Sepo does not visit his four-legged friend. The visit the old man can’t wait for, every morning!

It all started a few winters ago. Sepo was once surprised to find a tiny animal on his porch begging for food. It was very cold outside, the lake was almost completely frozen over, and it was almost impossible for the little otter to find anything to hunt. A kind-hearted man, Sepo treated his uncommon guest to fish, which he, by the way, accepted with pleasure. This was the start of a wonderful friendship. The one that became famous on the Internet after someone decided to spread the news about these two companions.

Now the friendly otter feels at home in Sepo’s house, and the more aged man is more than happy to have her there. Now that winter is around the corner, Sepo makes sure his storeroom has some food in case his otter friend decides to bring some of his furry friends with him.
