Homeless man risking his own life to save animals from a burning shelter
In life, there is always a place for a feat, even if a person, by the standards of society, does not look and live the way he should.
we will share with you just such a story, where a man who has no roof over his head, work, and sometimes even food has a very big and kind heart. Risking his own life, he rescued animals from a burning shelter.
At the end of December last year, a fire broke out in one of the animal shelters in Atlanta. And before any of the workers realized it, the homeless Kit Walker threw himself into the fire and began to save the animals.
Keith has been living on the street for over thirty years. He can earn a few dollars for food and even keep a dog, but finding a roof over his head is a big problem. But the man never complained. He has a dog Bravo, for whom he also buys food and even periodically arranges with the shelter to leave him there to spend the night. That evening, when the fire started, Bravo was also on the «guest».
The kitchen caught fire and the firemen who came to the call extinguished it. But they didn’t save animals, according to the instructions it’s not supposed to, these are not people. There are special services for animals. And while the rescuers struggled with the elements, Keith Walker ignored all the rules and ran into the shelter to save the unfortunate animals. He was scared, the acrid smoke filled his breath, but despite this, the man carried the animals out into the street.
Fortunately, all the fluffy, mustachioed, and tailed ones survived and were transferred to a new building. The shelter is currently being restored. And Keith Walker and the dog Bravo are always welcome here and have already organized a fundraiser so that they have their roof over their heads.
