Friendship at a distance: the penguin travels thousands of kilometers every year to see his savior

In 2011, Brazilian Juan Pereira de Souz cured a penguin after diving into an oil slick.
In 2011, a 71-year-old builder by profession, but a fisherman by vocation, João Pereira de Souz, found an exhausted penguin on the beach, which is located near the city of Rio de Janeiro.

It was like the animal had hit an oil slick in the ocean and gradually died, it was all covered in a viscous dark liquid. The man took the baby to his home and looked after him until he fully recovered. After that, Dindim (such a nickname was given to the pet by Juan) returned to freedom. And the man continued to live a normal life.

But how surprised he was after a couple of months when he saw the grown-up Dindim near his house. The penguin was healthy and did not want to go anywhere.

Now every year from June to February, the penguin spends with his savior and then returns to his natural habitat and breeds off the coast of Argentina and Chile.

The penguin is not given to any of the people, except for his savior. He trusts the man very much, he climbs into his lap and allows him to wash. Perhaps the penguin considers the man a member of his family. It is especially striking that, seeing his savior, the bird wags its tail with all its might and lets out a joyful cry. Just like a dog.
For the fifth year in a row, he travels thousands of kilometers to Brazil, only to spend the next 8-9 months with his savior.
