«Faceva Impazzire Tutti Gli Uomini»: Com’è Oggi La Modella Più Bella degli Anni ’80?
A little lion cub fell into a ravine and slid down and down
The pride of lions consists of female relatives, their offspring and, in fact, the owner of the pride, the male. His wives get food for the pride, they also take care of the cubs. Males rarely live past ten years, regularly fighting for their territory with competitors. And among the offspring, only a fifth survive, because the male who won the fight for the pride, exterminates the offspring of his defeated predecessor.
But there are still cases that characterize these mighty predators as loving parents, capable of self-sacrifice no less than people. One of these stories took place in the expanses of the national park of Kenya.
The lion cub became a victim of his curiosity and fell into a deep ditch. He was not strong enough to climb the clay, sheer wall. Clinging with claws, he slowly and inevitably glided to a depth of several meters. The desperate calls of the kitten were heard by several of his adult relatives at once.
Three lionesses and two young lions even began to descend to the baby to help, but the soft ground crumbled under their heavy bodies. Four animals left this venture and returned to solid ground, and only one female fearlessly continued to descend to the frightened cub.
It seems that this was the baby’s mother, because how else to explain her willingness to risk herself? Fortunately, the strength and flexibility of the lioness allowed her to intercept the child halfway down and climb up. It is not known whether the mother did the “suggestion” without hearing, but she licked him for a long time — either consoled or washed.
