Meet the adorable calf who is convinced he is a dog
The hero of today`s story is from New Wales state, Australia.
When the tiny calf became an orphan, local farmers adopted him. The married couple, Coral Elgi and Wayne, named him Buddy.
And they were right: the calf is very social and friendly. On the farm, this Santa Gertrude calf found his true family, as a German shepherd named Bada took full responsibility for his upbringing. The dog had already had eleven puppies, and Buddy became her beloved child number twelve.
She does everything to look after him: cleaning, snuggling, protecting from dangers, you name it. As a true son of his family, he picked up similar habits like wagging his tail and running with other dogs.
Look how cute they are together!
Even though there are other hoofed mammals on the farm, the bull spends most of his time with dogs and people. The owners are convinced that Buddy believes he is a dog.
The only difference he has from his dog family is his size and appetite. He drinks about 4.5 liters of milk every day and already weighs more than 40 kg (and when he grows up, he will be at least 600 kg!).
Since he is treated like a dog, Buddy is lucky and will not be slaughtered. He is considered to be a part of the family.
Children adore him as well. And the feelings are mutual. Buddy loves running alongside their bicycles and playing tag.
We wish this unique and gorgeous family all the best.
